Portraits #3

Here’s the last of that portrait group I did recently – all 6″ x 6″ on 1/8″ masonite board, in acrylics.

I know I will be making more faces and more small paintings soon, as I ordered some more masonite panels to work on!

They all come right to life on their own. I really wonder what I have to do with it, or where they are emerging from. Sounds kind of “airy” but that’s how I feel!

It’s very interesting to me how little it takes to capture emotion or personality – a few lines in the right direction. If you look at people they certainly reveal themselves. I’ve always enjoyed watching people when I can’t hear their conversations – it’s interesting to conjecture about what they might be saying or thinking. Many stories have been created in my mind!

Interesting! I also like observing people when I can’t hear them. I also like watching people who show no emotion. I love a good poker face (a defendant who shows no emotion, etc.) – I enjoy watching them and waiting for something to show on their puss!
