Let me start off by saying the following artwork was inspired by someone here in the blog world, and I don’t remember who. But I do know I saw someone make the greatest little drawings on paint chip cards, using the names of the paints as inspiration. Whoever you are, let me know, and I’ll put your name right here. Because I owe you a Thank You!
(Since I wrote this post, the mystery has been solved! Let me say right now – go here as quick as you can to A Certain Line and feast your eyes!)
Yes, we are painting walls at our house, and so I picked up paint chips at the store. I remembered the above-referenced idea and I got some pale color cards, too, even though we were looking for green paint.
In front of the TV a few days later, I got to work. I’ll tell you right now I don’t usually look at the TV when I say I’m watching it – I’m doing something else, things like this, and only listening.
Anyway, here is one of the results (I’ve done a few sessions and have some more creations, I liked doing it so much – I’ll show you others later on).
I sent this one to my son, as mail art. Imagine his surprise at receiving a paint color brochure (he lives in an apartment and isn’t going to be painting anything). When he opened the brochure, though, it all made sense…
