Small Landscape Day 1

Today is Day 1 of the Small Landscape Project. With each painting, I will write a couple of sentences about what thoughts or feelings the painting evoked in me when I pulled it out of the box for display. Not what I thought when I was painting it (I certainly can’t remember! Oh dear!) but when I saw it fresh again, what memories or reflections is brought up. I am sure you will see very different things than I do, in fact I am sure of it. One thing I like about abstract art is the ability it has to focus feelings or ideas individual to each person.

OK. We start today. A little intro from me, the painting, the instructions. If no one takes that day’s painting, I’ll put it on the Giveaway Page the next day. That’s the format. I hope you enjoy this little trip we are taking together.

Claudia McGill says: I like to look at a sky with a bit of mistiness to it. To me, it’s a sign of a day with a secret – a day that’s starting out one way and planning to veer off into something different. A look out for surprises kind of day. This year has been full of surprises and I’m not always up for it, but I usually do fine once I get over the shock. That’s encouraging to me. Note to self: Try not to shriek so loudly when startled.

I always say I don’t like surprises, but I’ve recently realized it’s actually the reverse. I’d rather not know. Maybe I won’t be smiling, but I’ll definitely be interested! (K)
