Small Landscape Day 35

Claudia McGill says: All my life I’ve been told the earth is round and there are pictures to prove it. OK, I’ll accept that, but I try to not think about it, because when I do, I envision myself, feet planted on the ground and my hair up in the air, because even though globes and pictures show my side of the earth as pointing up, well, is that really how it is? I think it is a lot easier to envision a nice flat earth with an edge, and you need to stay away from that edge, and everything that points up really means to be pointing up. Thoroughly confused? Me too.

I’ve made grids a lot in the past, but I now seem to be circular. I agree, much more comforting, and so smooth and easy for the arm and fingers to paint, and the mind to follow along in a nice kind of swirly trance!
