Here’s a mail art postcard. I collaged the papers on to the recycled cardboard background and then, well, I did not know what to do with it. Two spilled ink blobs decided me. I turned them into crows and suddenly an autumn scene appeared!

I love crows, so I was happy about this little bit of art serendipity.

Isn’t it funny how things sometimes compose themselves? I would have thought this to be entirely intentional had you not confided otherwise. There’s another thing we have in common – I also love crows, ravens, and rooks.

I am sure you’d be very surprised how many of my compositions composed themselves…or else rose from some hidden place in my head. My role often seems to be not getting in the way, and deciding when to stop…

Thank you. It really did seem as if these crows appeared because they wanted to – I had no thought of them, just – oh no, I spilled! Look at those puddles of ink! And then – crows. Like magic. I love it when it happens like that.
