Interior Design

These postcards are collages, made from the pages of Architectural Digest magazines. I have quite a collection of these publications; my local library saves the discarded issues for me. I love this source for a lot of reasons – the paper quality, the variety of colors and shapes, and the subject matter – I love houses and furniture.

Every so often I like to “shop” in these magazines and create my own surreal rooms. That’s what I have done here.

I like the third one down. That mag is way too good to be cuttin’ it up, in my view. They’re like gold. But, if you must. ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ™‹

Thank you. I think in another life I will be involved in interior decoration or else architecture. I could make these kinds of images all day long and even better, imagine myself living inside them.

Thank you. There is just something about architectural and interior design subjects that really attracts me and I like the absurd way things can turn out, doing collage this way.

I feel the same way. The houses are from another planet as far as I am concerned. So I love the little trip into fantasy land I can make out of them. I also like stairs and steps a lot. The idea of going from one level to another means something to me, visually and thematically.

Thank you. There is just something about these interior scene photos that really attracts me. I think it’s the idea of dollhouses mixed up with just how much fun it is to rearrange furniture, for me!
