Portrait of a Life-Long Reader

This person likes to read as much as I do. I am sorry I interrupted her.

Well, I miss you, but as a person who would rather read than do anything else, and I mean anything, I have forgotten to eat when reading a really good book, I certainly can understand! If you have any recommendations I hope you’ll share them…???!!!

Thank you, Claudia, that’s very kind of you to say. I’m currently reading The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt and really enjoying it. It’s very long, over 800 pages but not dragging at all. Perfect for this stinking hot summer whilst I’m loathe to move away from my fan. 🙂

Your oh-so-appropriate miniature stories make me smile. I find myself looking for the story to continue in your next post! Your use of color is exhilarating.

Thank you. I will say there is no color I don’t like, and even when I try to stay in a more restricted palette, well, that goes by the wayside pretty fast and all colors burst out! I am glad you see a storyline in my work – I wonder, if that is because more and more, I find myself drawing upon my inner “landscape” vs. an outer one? Interesting to think about. I used to be much more guided by the outside, and my work was more impersonal, I think.

Thank you. I am thrilled that you feel I have this effect. It’s funny, but my art (and my writing as well) are two areas for me in life unlike pretty much every other one – I am bold where in everyday life, I worry and have a lot of anxiety. It is very freeing for me to do these creative activities and it has helped me in my everyday life to be more confident.

Thank you so much. I tend to paint right out of the tube of paint, I mix by adding layers on top of layers – so I have a LOT of colors and I love to use them.
