Outdoor Scenes From Somewhere

These three paintings are 8″ x 8″ and were done in June, 2017.

The little white house was inspired by a real little white house I saw on a walk. I’ve done several other images of it and I don’t know why I am so interested in this building. I’m sure I’ll show them later.

The other two paintings – just came from my imagination.

I think it’s interesting to repeat a subject in our artwork. It’s always interesting to me to see the same subject rendered differently each time. I like the texture in the green paint in the middle painting.

Thank you. I got aggravated with that middle painting and did the scribbles and realized that the scribbles…were what it needed. Sheepish apology to the painting followed!

The little white house looks quite a bit like my house! I have heard that doing 100 of something can lead to growth and new perspectives. Not sure if you want to do that many little white house painting, but it would be interesting. I love the nighttime landscape with the trees. Not sure if that is what you had in mind, but that is what it makes me think of.

Thank you. That 100 idea sounds fascinating. I can see it could really lead to some deep thinking and new ideas coming out pushed by the repetition. Hmmm. I will be thinking about this. And the trees, you know, I was just doing colors, but I thought the same thing when done – nighttime.
