Tiny Art Gallery – August Field Trip: Five

A cosmic circle trying to escape.

An image that, if it were a horse, would be called piebald.

Artist trading cards, 2.5″ x 3.5″.

We wrap up the visit with these two artworks.

Now, let’s all get back on the bus and go home. I hope you enjoyed the trip to the Tiny Art Gallery.

You’ve got some really interesting visual textures going on in this pieces. There is some sort of branching marks that make me think of coral or the air tubes inside lungs (my vocabulary is failing me for the correct word for those) or lichen on a tree.

Thank you. I know what you are referring to. That effect happens when there is a thickish layer of paint on a card, and then I use it to stamp on to another card. The stamped result is what you see – when you lift off the first card, these little capillaries develop. Then if you let them dry and brush another color over them, this is what you get. I like the effect.
