Figurines ! Figurines! Figurines!
I have made many figurines over the years. Here is an assortment from 2014, made in two styles. I have sold quite a few of their companions as time went on and I’ve enjoyed having these ladies around. But as I continue to clear a new way for myself in my art doings, I feel it’s time for them to go out into the world.
So, I’m doing a giveaway, starting right now. It works the same way as my giveaways in the past: the art is free, you pay for the shipping.
Here are the details…
How much will it cost, you ask? Well, in the US, for one or two figurines, I’m setting a number of $15, based on postage estimates. If you want more, I’ll do some research and let you know.
To ship them internationally, well, that is expensive, but if you’re willing, I am too. I’ll figure that out on a case-by-case basis.
In either case, payment can be made through PayPal, unless we work out other arrangements.
How many can I take? As many as you want. First come, first served.
How do I let you know? Just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, tell me which one(s) you want, and we can go from there.
OK, here are the figurines. Click on the photo to get a bigger image with more detail. I’ll give you some background as to their materials and creation process below.
As they are given away I will update the gallery as quickly as possible.
Group 1: These figurines are made from various stoneware clays. I used Velvet underglazes on them, brushing on and then washing off, so that the color remained in the textured sections for the second firing. They are all roughly 6-8″ tall.
Group 2: These figurines are made from low-fire terracotta clay and colored with Velvet underglazes. I used a sgraffito technique: I put the color on the wet clay and then scratched through the underglaze to reveal the clay. They are all roughly 6-8″ tall. Update 1/25/19 – they are all gone now!
